San Fransisco

Nothing like a long weekend in SF when winter is looming in Montana. Charlotte and I got the full SF fix including the best Pho we have ever eaten (despite my getting food poisoning from it) and had a great time exploring Chinatown and North Beach. Thanks to our friends Jodi and John for letting us stay aboard their beautiful boat! All and all SF just kicks ass.

Acklins Island, Bahamas

I recently traveled to Acklins Island in the Bahamas with my buddies Eric and Scott to visit a friends new fishing lodge. Acklins has only 400 residents and the village we stayed in only around 100. The island seems like it is at the end of the world despite being littered with ship wrecks and crashed drug planes. The locals are so laid back that literally almost nothing ever gets done. Except on "Homecoming" week, which we were lucky enough to see. Homecoming is a 3 day barbecue/bender where anyone who has moved away from the village comes home for a big ol' throw down. A couple of days before the scheduled date everyone repainted the local shops and common area, found their one nice set of clothes, opened restaurants and washed their cars. The kids put on a Junkanoo parade that ended in the common area dancing and playing music for 45 min. non stop. Hard to beat.

Copper River, Alaska 2007

Twenty four inch rainbows eating dry flies is enough to keep you up at night.

Agua Boa, Brazil Febuary 2007

In February of 2007 I spent two weeks hosting the Royal Amazon Lodge in Brazil. During my stay I caught three sub species of Peacock Bass, Arrowana, Piranha and a bunch of other species that all looked like they belonged in an aquarium. I can’t wait to go back, good times.

Smithers B.C. 2006

After a long summer in the fly shop we took the boys on a road trip up north in search of trees, quiet and steelhead.
